NEPAL
NEPAL, a tiny Himalayan Kingdom, wedged between CHINA to the north and INDIA to the south, the west and east, is a land of contrast and a land locked country. It is about 880 km long and 240 km wide, rectangular in shape stretching from east to west, the snowy Himalayas in the north, the Mid-mountain ranges and the fertile Genetic plans in the south. Although it is only Hindu declared Kingdom in the world, both Hinduism nd Buddhism are harmoniously blended. Her sacred shrine of Pashupatinath in Kanthmandu Valley and Muktinath in the mountainous Mustang district attract pilgrims and devotees for beyond her borders. Lumbini, the birth place of Lord Buddha in southern Terai plains, is an equally important destination for the Buddhist pilgrims from all around the globe. Within Nepal, two thousand years of truly peaceful co-existence Hinduism and Buddhism have produced a unique blend of the two religions: it is to this harmonious intermingling of faiths that Nepal owes the diverse richness of her art and architecture. Within the short stretch of 150 miles which separates her southern borders from those of the north can be found a wealth of natural scenic wonders as the land soars steeply from a mere w00 feet above sea level to the breath taking Himalayas and ultimately “THE ROOF OF THE WORLD”. Mount Everest 8848m. Within this sharply-tilted terrain appears an extraordinary, if not unique variety of climate, rich flora and fauna. Without any doubt, Nepal is a paradise for trekkers, a challenge to mountaineers and for holiday-makers and peace loves.
